my own domain name directed to jalbum.net

I am trying to sort out how to direct my own domain name I purchased to my jalbum.net account. I have created a s\ample album, added a CNAME on my registrar for myaccount.album.net, as well as added my personal domain name to my jalbum account settings but when I type in my domain I purchased I get directed to the main jalbum site, not the album I published. The FAQ says I should be able to point my purchased domain name to my jalbum.net account. Is there anything I may have missed?

It certainly looks like it's set up properly. This is one that Anders will need to investigate.
BTW, even if it were working properly, it wouldn't go to the album you've posted - it would go to your profile page.

Jgromit,
Thanks for jumping in to help, I have an email into support but probably wont hear back until much later. I really hope they can help me sort out how to fix this out and hope its something simple.

You can add an index.html page to the root of your jAlbum.net account, use drag and drop to add the file in the jAlbum upload window. The index page can have a redirect to any page in your site, so visitors using your own domain won't go to your profile page.

Yes, it's now working for me, as well. It wasn't yesterday - probably some sort of propagation problem.

ROBm,
What you described is what I am trying to accomplish. mpdpics.com takes me to my profile page, which is not where I want people to land. I want people to end up at http://www.mpdpics.com/mpdpics/. Is there a FAQ on how to create the index page you mentioned that needs to be added to the root of my jalbum account?

The attached file should do the trick nicely (take a look at it - it's pretty lean). Just upload it to the root of your jalbum.net account.

ROBm,

www.mpdpics.com is now the same as mpdpics.jalbum.net so if you want an album in the root of www.mpdpics.com you upload the album to the root of mpdpics.jalbum.net. (But if you later want to have more than one album you might want to use another approach.)

I have updated the help page to show examples using both jGromit's HTML page and Ander's uploading to the root. If it is not clear enough let us know so we can improve it.

I might be missing one critical step in uploading to the root directory from the application. When I try and drag and drop the index.html file I receive a copy message that does not ever copy the file. I have attached a few screen shots of what I am seeing on my end as well. My working directory shows as c:\users\mpdavis\documents\my albums\mpdpics so I even tried copying the index.html file there but I still am no directed to http://mpdpics.com/mpdpics/ when I type in http://mpdpics.com.

You should not add the index.html file to your local album. You must upload it to your jalbum account by dragging and dropping it on "mpdpics.jalbum.net" in the upload window. Check out "Connected" at http://jalbum.net/help/en/jAlbum/Upload for a screenshot.

Those screen shots are all showing actions taking place on your own PC. You can't upload files to the server by dragging them around on your PC! And you can't do this by adding an index.html to your album project - the album already has its own index.html, which is the top-level page of thumbnails.
To do this, you'll need to use an FTP client program like FileZilla, connect to the jalbum.net server, navigate to the root of your account on the server side, then tell FileZilla to upload your newly-created index.html there.
