That plays fine too. I have noticed that the OPs album actually has a footer.
Both albums in an iFrame can get into a weird state if you quickly flick the page up (to scroll down), the content expands making the play button move down the screen.

The weird expanding may be a red herring, see attached for the effect though, just in case it is relevant.

I'm afraid I don't know what to make of any of this. Of course, the developer of MrBurn5 is no longer with jAlbum, so this is an orphan skin (one of many, I'm sorry to say).

The moral of the story may be that embedding a MrBurn5 album in an iframe is fraught with danger, and should be avoided. If you just want a slideshow on your home page, better to find a little Javascript routine to handle it within the context of the home page itself, rather than trying to embed a complete album in an iframe.

Some quick Googling reveals a number of possible sources, like:

The list goes on....

These would let you put a "Ken Burns" type of slideshow in a regular <div> on your homepage. That div could then be made completely responsive (unlike an iframe).

Thank you guys, much appreciated.
The DVembed works fine on my iPhone.
I'll do some testing and will let you know.

EDIT: The weird thing is when I use just the DVembed source from above it works in the same html. So I'm testing now different album settings.

Working now, but don't ask me why :-)
The solution was to generate an entirely new show and upload again.
Probably in the first run I miseed some files or messed it up elsewhere.

Glad you got it working. I'd love to know why it was failing, in case we run into the same thing again!

RobM and I were kicking around a few things we thought might be causing problems, things you should probably keep in mind for the future.

  • Your parent page is XHTML, but the album is HTML5. That should be OK, but who knows?
  • The album page still had the old "mark of the web" on it for IE (<!-- saved from url=(0023)http://example.com/ -->), which I know makes a mess of things in Edge. That's now been removed from jAlbum, and your newly-generated album no longer shows it. Shouldn't affect a mobile, but again, who knows?
  • The album coding doesn't declare a charset. That's a skin problem that should be corrected - if the page code contained diacriticals, for example, that could create problems.

Some unrelated stuff:

  • Your parent page contains some HTML errors, like </br> instead of <br/> (in HTML5, it should be just <br>, of course), and a stray </p>.
  • You should probably move to HTML5, though in HTML5, iframe dimensions must be pixels - no percentages allowed. To create a responsive box for the slide show, you'd have to move in a different direction.

jAlbum is one of the most comfortable tools I could find on the market.

But I want my albums appearing great on iPad/iPhone too and it does not and since Mr. Burn 5 is not supported anymore and you are not offering alternatives I had to look around.

YES - there are alternatives...
MIGHT BE a nightmare if you are first time to work with it.

It is not as comfortable as jAlbum.

So David should send me an e-mail once he can offer a solution by jAlbum.

Why cannot jAlbum also create such a skin and function like this? I really would love to stay with jAlbum. But all my friends using iPads are very frustrated (incl. me) to see the results with Mr Burn 5.

You like that? The navigation icons obscure the pictures all the time. And in Firefox, they don't even show up as icons - they just show up as colored blocks. See screenshot.

This works on iPad very well!

But it looks awful. And it's not even responsive - the "box" that's displaying the slideshow is a fixed size.

If jAlbum produced anything that looked that bad, I wouldn't use it. Ugh.

My first positing was after the first successful test of the test version.

Meanwhile I get the frame the way like I had with Mr. Burn5: just a plain album without navigation - without advertising.

As said, I like more the comfort of jAlbum.

After learning a lot from your postings I found out:

it has nothing to do with iframe or not. Iframe works on iPad device (not on iPhone properly) like here:

As said: I would like to return to jAlbum/Mr. Burn 5 because of the comfort of using ftp-protocol etc.

But why cannot you also fix the problems Mr Burn 5 has or develop with the other member of your team a different one with the requirement html 5 and running properly on iPad.

55 million of iPads were sold 2015 and you just "ignore" them.

This is a little sad that you do not offer alternatives: just saying the person who develeoped Mr Burn 5 left the company is no alternative!

Hello,
This question concerns Mr Burn5 and jGromit also gave several opinions on this skin.
I often used Mr Burns with great pleasure. Version 5 does not work at all. Slow, jerky etc. So I remade all these présentations with MatrixSlide of jGromit. It's very beautiful and it works perfectly.
Mr. jGromit, might you please to look at this unfortunate Mr Burn5 skin and see, from Matrix if you can not develop a similar skin based on Ken burns effect and longer adjustable duration of fade effect.
