For testing purposes tried to change the skin of an existing album from Photoblogger 2 to Turtle, an error message occured during creating the album. What is to do?

See this old post but in short - reload the skin and try again, if that doesn’t work reinstall the skin, quit jAlbum (Windows users), and the try again.

Also, if you have templates in a project and you change skins run this tool before trying to do a ‘Make album’.

Thank you, the 1st method worked. First I didn't know how to 'reload' the skin, but finnally I succeded.
A question concerning the external tool
"Update project templates.bsh"
It doesn't occur in my external tools, may be I must first add it.
Where it should be placed with in the jAlbum program folder?
Regards
Ulli

In the moment I have a problem again to change the skin from Turtle to Photoblogger and vice versa. Please tell me how to 'reload' the skin. Is it necessary to reinstall the skin or Is enough necessary to restart Windows?

Just select the skin and use it. You only need to reload a skin (on Windows) if you update the skin within jAlbum.

Try reading about Notification center and
Skin and style, both are on the Welcome page of the wiki.

Reloading the skin is simple. Let's say you have chosen Turtle and have made changes, but you want to start over, with the default settings for the skin. Just choose another skin, like Minimal, then choose Turtle again. Now you will have all of the normal default settings.

(BTW, Turtle is obsolete. It was superseded by Tiger. You should not be using Turtle for new album projects.)

RobM,
I get crazy, I can do what I want. As soon as I start Make Album with the album whose skin I wanted to change, no matter which skin I use, whether Turtle, PhotoBlogger, Tiger, FancyBox, even Minimal an error message .see below - occurs.

An unexpected error occurred. Please see detailed description below.
The Preview looks crazy, don't matter which skin is selected, see attached image.
The uploaded album before the error occurred, see:

Now I succeded to make the album without an error message, but it is not the same as the uploaded, although it should
https://webalben.rezkonv.de/albums/radtouren/rad_eigene/album/index.html
I found a setting for better compatibilty with older skins but with more RAM consumption, but I don't find the setting again.
Please look at the preview with the jAlbum browser

Whilst you can change skins without reloading them, if they have not been updated with jAlbum running, you must always update or delete and add any template pages used.

The easiest way is as mentioned above, run the 'Update project templates' tool after changing skins and before doing a 'Make'.

Thank you, I hope, I don't forget it the next time. In the meanwhile I succeeded that it works almost as before - without using the external tool - after I changed my individual skin settings because they were lost and changed to factory settings although I saved my favourite skin settings as the skin default.

You told me, that Turtle is obsolete, I supposed that already, because no updates were issued in the last time. It is a pity that Tiger doesn't optically meet my requirements, and PhotoBlogger doesn't yet contain all features of Turtle, e.g. starting a diashow in the thumbnail view. But his will come, I'm sure.
