Hello there

I generate my albums on windows 10 PC and upload the finished Jalbum folder on my Unix web site. This worked fine with good old Turtel.

To adapt an old Turtel project with sub folders (2011) for smartphone I switched the theme to Tiger, and it worked fine on the Widows PC.

Once uploaded, Problem :

1 - the subfolders icons did no more display (only the menu bar gives access to the subfolder albums)
2 - the subfolder album named "QE à bord" produces a 404 error
3 - So I finally suspected the French accent on the "à" in the folder name "QE à bord"
4 - Replacing the "à" by "a" solved the pb as a turn around

Turtle handled correctly a name like "QE à bord" and Tiger does NOT !
Tiger probably generates a non portable code for accentuated characters.

Liceced jAlbum v 15.0.6
Tiger v 1.8.2

I have not yet uploaded a Tiger v 1.9.1 generated version

Very strange. I just grabbed your project settings and made a quick test album with a folder title of QE à bord, and it works just fine (I won't leave this test album up for long):

(demo removed)

This is with Tiger 1.9.0.

Could this be a web host problem?

Thanks jGromit

I just discovered a discussion on that here : https://jalbum.net/blog/entry/top-10-album-headaches

As soon as possible I'try to follow the recommendation :
1) setup the album without accents in name and folder names
2) and later on, modify the displayed name for the folder using the needed accents.
3) find out if the server is OK with that.

Ok

Using simple text folder names on album creation and defining Title and description as needed works fine.

QE à bord

Yes, that is the easiest and safest solution. I even do that in English. The folder name might be cornwall, but the folder title, which the visitor sees, is Cornwall & Devon.

It's odd that a French ISP would have trouble with l'accent grave, however. It should work even with a folder name that contains diacriticals.
