Hello everyone.

We use Jalbum 14.1.14 / Tiger 1.4.1with Java 8 for a very big album around 150 000 pictures / videos in 4000 folders

You can see result here http://album.clubalpin-idf.com/index.html

You have the big part here (2300 folders) http://album.clubalpin-idf.com/Randonn%C3%A9e/index.html

Everything seems ok but look here

http://album.clubalpin-idf.com/Randonn%C3%A9e/2008-05%20Haut%20Languedoc/index.html

In the output I don't have any exception for this specific album see joined file nothing.txt

Can someone help me? Thank you.

If I try to access one of the thumbnails on that page directly, I get browser errors. For example:

http://album.clubalpin-idf.com/Randonn%C3%A9e/2008-05%20Haut%20Languedoc/thumbs/2008%20Languedoc%20010.jpg

The Firefox developer console says that it couldn't load the image. Chrome reports the size as 0x0 pixels. It appears that the files are damaged in some way.

The trouble are link to metadata

I put the 2008 Languedoc 010.jpg source file (rename in 1.jpg) here

http://xl1234.free.fr/0/1.jpg

If I erase all metadata Jalbum generate a good output.

I didn't have this trouble with Jalbum V12

Please attach two things:

  • The project file - jalbum-settings.jap
  • One of the original images you're using for the album, and which causes problems. Make sure it's the original, with its metadata intact - a broken output image tells us nothing.

Sorry for the delay, I regenerate all my album

Please find my jap file.

The metadata trouble is solved by clearing metadata but I get another trouble :

in some folder the album thumb is duplicate for 2 differents folders.

Look http://album.clubalpin-idf.com/-%20Reportages/index.html

Search
2013-09 Aiguille du Van
and
2013-07 Au bon accueil
it's the same picture !

For the folder 2013-09 Aiguille du Van it's an image from the album ok
but for 2013-07 Au bon accueil it's not the right image (i select 015.JPG in the folder)

Another sample :

In http://album.clubalpin-idf.com/Randonn%C3%A9e/index.html
search 2016-02 Montmorency and 2016-01 Marly and 2015-12 Rambouillet
same picture but for 2016-01 Marly the picture is not in the folder !

Yes, but we need to investigate why the metadata are causing a problem. There is a new metadata extractor being used, and we can't debug problems in it without some examples to work with.

Again, please attach one of the original images that's causing problems!

I'll have to leave that one to Laza. Because the album is database-driven, it's very difficult to debug problems like this.

Those images are both called 015.JPG - that's why they were mistaken by the skin. I'll try to figure out some better method when such happens.

The skin generates higher resolution images for folders, and for the sake of password protected folders. I didn't take into consideration the same named files can be selected from different folders.

Wow, there's some bizarre metadata in that image file! None of the expected EXIF stuff, but some humongous ICC Profile tags of unknown origin. And yes, jAlbum chokes on it (it's not a skin problem - the jAlbum core image processor can't handle it).

But the solution is simpler than laboriously wiping out all the metadata. Just go to Album > Settings > Advanced > Metadata and uncheck Include photographic data in generated images (the second checkbox in the lower section). There's no reason to preserve those metadata in the generated slide images.

I know this option (don't include photographic data..) but some viewers need these metadata. They want to have all picture information !

About the trouble "duplicate images for folders" I read laza
"I didn't take into consideration the same named files can be selected from different folders."

Ok but when I have a folder with 3000 subfolders like http://album.clubalpin-idf.com/Randonn%C3%A9e/index.html

I have multiple subfolders with duplicate name for image folder.

As long as you check the first box, Include photographic information in generated pages, viewers can still see the EXIF information when they click on Donne├ęs photos. The second box, Include photographic information in the generated images, actually embeds the EXIF in the slide image, and that's a tricky operation (which is why jAlbum warns you about doing it when you select that box). I don't think any visitor needs that.
