Batch rename with regular expressions for jAlbum 13 and lower
Posted: 19-May-2017 23:06
This tool will batch rename project files using plain text or regular expressions.
Processing starts in the folder currently shown in jAlbum's explore mode and recursively goes through any subfolders.

When run the tool will open a settings window where you can enter the search and replace text/pattern. You can also elect to process files, folders and/or links, just use the checkboxes to select which ones to process.

Using the tool:
Make sure you are in the appropriate folder within the jAlbum explore window, if at the root level all project files will be processed.
Select the tool from the menu

Enter the search and replace terms in the settings then select the types of files to be processed, links is selected as the default.

You can use normal text or regular expressions (regex).

Example regular expression:
search
(.*)_([0-9]+)(.*)
replace
$1$3

The selected file types will be renamed e.g. 'Filename_123_abc.jpg' becomes Filename_abc.jpg'
