Bad link in HOME tab

I have the following problem with JAlbum 8.9.2 and BPP 4.4 on an iMac running 10.6.4. (This problem did not exist with earlier versions like JAlbum 8.0 and BPP 4.3. running on an older iMac.)

In BPP I specify an “external HOME path” of “../index.html”. This is supposed to go into the HOME tab at the top-left on the web pages. The HOME tab appears on both the picture index page and the picture slide page. The link that is generated and goes into the HOME tab is different on the index page and the slide page (which is correct) but the link on the slide page is wrong.

Looking at the generated HTML, I see the following href being generated:

OLD version of JAlbum
Slide page href=".././../index.html"
Index page href="./../index.html"

NEW version of JAlbum
Slide page href="../../../index.html"
Index page href="./../index.html"

Note that the “NEW version of JAlbum” generates a slightly different (look at the “..” versus the “.”) path name for the Slide page HOME tab which I believe is wrong.

(I hope I got all this right.)

Maybe a quick fix: can you specify your HOME destination as an absolute URL, like http://www.example.com ?

I prefer not to use absolute addresses.

As a quick fix, I put the "index.html" file in both places so it gets found either way.

Looks like there might have been a bug in defining Jalbum's rootPath variable from within 'slides' folders that was fixed somewhere around version 8.2.6.

Pop the attached files in the BluPlusPlus plugins folder (overwriting the existing two files) and remake your album. All should be well.

monkeyboy,

Thank you very much. As you predicted, all is well after I took your advice and moved the 2 files you sent to me into the plugins folder.

You folks over there in Edinburgh are OK. Have a pint (or 2) on me!

Folks,

As noted in the message directly above, this problem was solved by the fixes provided by monkeyboy. However, I am not sure that these fixes ever made it back into the files being distributed with this skin. It appears that the old original files are still being downloaded as part of BluPlusPlus4.4

Thanks for a great skin.

The only one who can change the skin, as distributed, is its author, and he hasn't shown up here in a couple of years.

This should be fixed in version 4.5 (I fixed a similar problem). Let me know if it is still wrong.
