I use AutoRun Assistant by Typhoon Software (shareware) which works really well. I havn't tried it with JAlbum (as I've just downloaded it) but it worked well with PhotoThumb.

1) AUTORUN.INF:
[autorun]
open=autorun.bat

2) AUTORUN.BAT:

@start page_name_here.htm
@exit

Or

[autorun]
open=rundll32.exe url.dll,FileProtocolHandler index.htm

Wow I can't believe I did this successfully. I tried the
Unidream Photoplayer because I thought it might make it easier for me, but it was so confusing. Then I just tried the shellexe and boy was it easy. I couldn't believe I got it on the first try. This is great. Thanks to those of you who posted the info.

As you can probably tell, there's no end of programs that can be used for AutoRunning a CD. Here's a few extra pages that I thought might interest folk.

HACKMAN is a freeware hex editor and disassembler. But it also comes with some extra editors, including ones designed for editing INI and DIZ (an archive summary) files, and an AUTOPLAY generator (what we're interested in here). The url for it is http://www.technologismiki.com/en/hackman/main/main.php

There's also a good list of autorun CD software and links at http://www.installsite.org/pages/en/tt_cdbrowse.htm

One of the best tutorials (with freeware apps) I know of is at http://www.ashzfall.com/products/autorun/index.html. There's also another page but I have the references at home and will post them tonight.

I had a look at http://www.ashzfall.com/products/autorun/index.html but found it hard to follow. Two pages that helped me were http://www.burzurq.com/forum/autorun_html.html and http://www.cryer.co.uk/brian/windows/howtocacdtwarahfm.htm

The last one was helpful because it also tells you how to open a HTML page that will maximiise as well. Ised the programs and info from these pages to make a autorun CD for my Library course.

Attachment CD-autorun.zip (14.5 KB)
Put these files in the root on the CD together with the index.html from your webalbum
the icon can be changed with another icon.ico file if you want
it works also on DVD but a bit slow.
