When using sub folders...

Hi there, lovely skin! I am wondering how I might do 2 things:
1. When I am using folders, only the folder menu appears on the home page. Is there any way I can display an image on this home page as well?

2. Once I click on a folder, the menu with the folder list dissappears. Is there any way to make the menu with the folder names stay on the top of the screen?

Or was this skin not really intended to be used with sub folders?

Thanks for your help

Anne.

If you put an image in your root folder (the folder that's containing the subfolders) this image will be displayed on the home page.

Currently no. If you open up a page for a folder you will only see the subfolders (and of course the images) of that folder. You should however see a "breadcrumb" navigation in the top so you should be able to click the root folder's name to get back to the home page.

Or was this skin not really intended to be used with sub folders?

It has support for sub folders but to be honest with you I haven't really put that much energy into folder handling (except for getting the breadcrumb navigation to work, which was kind of complicated). I actually plan to focus on better folder support for the next version so any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks for your reply Kris. I dont seem to have any breadcrumbs, but I'll check into that, I probably have some setting turned off. Sorry for the late response, I got distracted :)

The latest version of Galleria has improved folder support. You can grab it from here.

Perhaps a bit off-topic here, but you mention grabbing the new version here. Should I backup the css files that I have modified in order that they not be overwritten by your new code?
THANKS!

Yes it's always a good idea to back up any skin modifications as they otherwise will be overwritten when you install a new version of the skin. A common approach is to rename the skin's folder before installing the new version.

Please also note that since Galleria is now being bundled with Jalbum it can exist in two locations so to make sure that you are renaming the right directory select Galleria in the skin picker and hit Ctrl+Alt+S to bring up the active skin directory.

Thanks! Luckily, I discovered that when my backed-up mods did not appear. Did a little searching around and found what you describe. Hope to play with it some more this week! ;)
