Color selector popup partially off-screen

I dont know if this is something that affects all, but thought I would mention it.
When in jAlbum and working in the Album Settings window, if I select the
Custom > Main Colours tab...
As I progress downwards through the various options to the 'Miscellany and Image Counter Meta Data' area and select an option, the opening windows are so far down the screen that the 'Ok - Cancel - Reset' buttons are unavailable due to them having disappeared off the bottom!
Would it be possible to change the habit of these windows from moving downwards on the screen, which seems to be due to their selection point's original position, and to make them ALL open 'Bang in the Middle of the jAlbum window'...
Regards, Peter

I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean. The Main Colors panel is a single window, with several sub-panels. The sub-panels, like the one for Image Counter and Metadata, don't open up as separate windows. On a very small display, the entire panel might not fit, so there are scroll bars to move up and down. The OK button is always accessible.

Hello jGromit
Thanks for your reply, I have attached a screenshot showing what I meant.
In the MatrixSlide > Custom > Main Colours tab, I selected 'Thumbstrip marker in expander' (Miscellany) and the popup window sits as it is in the picture, other lower options all do this too and the popup has to be dragged up to reveal the 'OK - Cancel - Reset' buttons.
Its not a great issue and I know you have better things to do but I thought I might ask if these windows could be made to open in the middle of the screen before the MatrixSlide skin is obsolete.
Regards, Peter

Ah, those are the color selectors. The skin has no control over them - they're part of the jAlbum core. The behavior might be different with a different "look and feel" setting in jAlbum. On a Mac, which is all I have at the moment, those OK Cancel Reset buttons are never hidden - the popup position automatically adjusts to the available viewport.

Okeydoke,
I have the Look and Feel set to Darcula, this is something I have always seen
and just wanted to try and help tidy it up thats all, its a little annoying knowing the
popup will need dragging to do anything every time its used. Haha
Many Thanks for your help

Of course, the real solution is to stop messing around, and get yourself a nice, big, whopping 30" monitor.

Or, just even grab something bigger.
Just to get an impression about the sizes: Link

Crikey, thats just bonkers! and a bit big for me.
Am perfectly happy with my smaller laptop thank you.
Just to go back to my 'little issue' , the 'Colour Selectors' are very random
in that they open in many different places on the screen, on the right or left and higher or lower.
If it was possible for them to open right in the centre of the jAlbum window, that would be great and the continuity of placement would maybe eliminate the need for a monitor the size of a cinema screen and users may, as time went by, become more familiar with it all... !

I expect you all have a lot to do but would there by any chance be a way of fixing this issue at all ?
As an example, when uploading albums, the various upload windows are always centered and nicely done, so I wondered, would it be possible to do something like that with the colour selectors ?

Maybe best to make a new post in the bugs forum.

I guess I wasn't clear enough about this. The skin coding doesn't produce the color selector popups, so there's absolutely nothing the skin coding can do to change their behavior. I can't fix this.

Quite the reverse jGromit, you were perfectly clear.
I hadn't taken on board that maybe the team at jAlbum doesn't read these posts.
I shall put something in the 'Bugs' section. I am aware of duplicating threads thats all, which is something I didn't want to do so it held me off...
Thanks for the info

I'll move this to Bug reports.
ETA: Thread moved.
To clarify the situation, Peter reports that when he clicks on a color swatch in a skin's UI, the color selector popup is sometimes appearing with part of the window out of the viewport, and inaccessible without dragging the window around.
It appears to be trying to anchor the popup to the color swatch that's been selected, which is fine. But it should also be constrained by the viewport.
On my little Macbook Air, I can't replicate this problem, and I've tried a couple of the look-and-feel settings. The result is consistent - the color selector popup is always fully visible within the viewport. I can't test Windows until next week. I have a suspicion that this might be just a Win7 problem (I seem to recall that Peter is still on it), or perhaps is confined to a particular look-and-feel. Call it a hunch.
