Special Princess

My name is Wichita van Rijkom and I’m the proud owner of a.. Well you might call it a little zoo because we have so much pets. Our home is filled with animals that we love and that keep me with a goal to work for. I got sick at a very young age and ever since then my life has had lots of ups and downs. I started home-schooling when I was 13 years old because I couldn’t go to school anymore because of my health issues, and although animals have always been important to me it wasn’t until then that they started to be so important to me as they are now. My pets give me a reason to live, something to work for and to get up for in the morning and I love them to death for that.
At the moment we have 14 pets. We have 2 cats, an Birman named Bouchra and a Ragdoll named Fantasia. We also have 8 chinchilla’s, Hermione and her daughters Piper and Paige, Phoebe and her daughter Cordelia and her son Prescott, father Angel and Phoebe’s brother Buffy. A teddy rabbit named McDreamy is also part of our household. And last but not least, my 3 big loves... My ‘baby’ smooth coated Chihuahua Ashley and my two Sheltie girls Abby and her daughter Eevee.
In 2008 I started the ‘dream’ of breeding with Abby and in 2009, after Abby had measured up to all the requirements that the Dutch Shetland Sheepdog club has for it’s breeders, Abby had her first litter. Shortly after the birth of that litter our kennelname Special Princess was approved and in 2010 Abby’s 2nd litter was born. We kept one of Abby’s daughters out of that one, our little Eevee. The breeding that I did with Abby was something I really loved, to see those pups grow up and do so well in their new homes and to really mean something for the breed was great but unfortunately due to circumstances (see my website for more info) my breeding plans abruptly stopped at the beginning of 2011.
