My name is Kevin Mikkelsen and in 2005 my wife and I started our own photo business called PhotographyOutdoors.com. Through the medium of photography we have had the pleasure of meeting many new people in many locations where the lure of the landscape has taken us. These adventures have turned into a love for the natural world and we enjoy sharing our perspective of it through fine art and gatorboard prints. Enjoy our site!
I use a Nikon D300 for all my digital work coupled with a 17-55mm 2.8 landscape lens that provides a great deal of versatility in most situations. Other lenses of choice include a Sigma 120-300mm telephoto zoom that aids in compressing landscapes and getting closeups of wildlife. A Tokina 12-24mm F/4 provides me with the ultra wide view I need to create the depth in an image. Rarely is this setup used without the aid of a Manfrotto 055XProB tripod and an 808RC4 head.
