Monte RondinaioMount Rondinaio is among the highest in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, and the highest in the municipality of Pievepelago after Monte Giovo (1991 meters above sea level). Its height (1964 m) reach almost the threshold of 2000 m. Similar to the Tre Potenze the Monte Giovo is crossed by the path of the Apennine ridge 00, and forms the boundary between the provinces of Modena and the province of Lucca. It is included in the Apennines Frignano Park, and with a considerable precipice overlooks the lake Baccio, Lake Torbido and Lake Turchino. Mount Rondinaio is divided by the massif of Mount Giovo from Mount Passetto, accessible only through a path, and is divided by the Alpe Tre Potenze from the Giovo Pass, also called Foce a Giovo that with more than 1700 meters above sea level is the highest step in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines reached by a paved road. From its summit a superb view: on one hand the Garfagnana and the Apuan Alps, on the other Tagliole valley with its villages of Ca 'di Gallo, Ronchi and Rotari.
