McNair Lake is a rare and perfect combination of elements that is, at the same time, vulnerable because the hills surrounding it could at any moment be logged.

Tom and I arrived at Farewell Lake after camping at Amor Lake the night before. The road is washed out at the lake and it appears that there is a put-in at the end of each section. We used the southerly route and put in on the inflow creek, paddled counter-clockwise, ate our lunch at the spot the outflow turns into a rock garden, then visited the island in the center of the lake before continuing our counter-clockwise course back to the inflow.

Pixie Lake is a small lake near Port Renfrew a bit off the beaten path. James and I enjoyed a slightly eerie paddle among dead trees and decaying water plants.

In the Spring of 2008 Graham and I spent a night on a small island on Amor Lake.

James and I paddled Anutz Lake on a crisp Autumn (early October) day in 2009.

James and I camped on and Paddled Gray Lake in Late August, 2009. These shots are from a late night and early morning paddle. Gray Lake is in the Sayward Forest north of Campbell River on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada.

Grace and Spirit Lakes are perhaps the best example of the kind of shallow water paddling I like to do.
