JAlbum 6.5 is here

Dear JAlbum user, I hope you're enjoying the summer and have many new photos to share. You haven't heard from me for a while, but now I have something I think is really cool - JAlbum 6.5 with file sharing! JAlbum is now fitted with a small web server that allows you to instantly share your albums with friends. This means no more publishing. The catch is of course that you need to keep your computer online and JAlbum running in the background for the albums to be available, but in situations where you just want to quickly share last nights party pictures with friends while chatting online, this is perfect! (JAlbum will run quietly from the icon tray when sharing albums) Enjoy my sample album served straight from my home PC running JAlbum 6.5. It has some photos from my midsummer sailing trip and some movie clips too. To answer your questions on how to protect albums only intended for close friends or other security related issues, please see the online documentation. All improvements and bug fixes are listed on the history page. You can update directly from the JAlbum download page.

Easy album integration

If you have an existing web site, you probably want the album to feel like part of your site. That is, instead of the album popping up in a separate web page, you may want your existing navigation menus and site graphics to stay around the album. In short, you want an album integrated in your site.

There are several ways to do this, and I have a tutorial on this on the JAlbum site, but I've now made a far easier tutorial for those of you who don't want to spend more than five minutes or learn about how to modify JAlbum skins. Enjoy!
