We are very proud to present the next generation of the Jalbum software: Jalbum 8.  The new version is packed with goodies, just waiting for you to be explored. Here are a few of the new features:

• User interface now completely supports drag and drop. Arrange files and folders between folders too
• New image editor with pluggable image filters: crop, red eye, color adjustment (brightness, contrast, saturation), gamma correction, rotate/straighten, grayscale, sepia, sharpen, blur, flip, invert and pixelate. The editor never touches your original images!
• Faster and more memory conservative image scaling
• Rating and sort by rating. Now you can make an album with your 5 star pictures only :)
  
• Originals can now be included for selected images
  
• File picker now displays thumbnails
• New icons, splash screen and UI touch-ups
• Better integration with your jalbum.net profile pages

Our friends at Blurb recently introduced a new book format. ImageWrap is a new hardcover book option that lets you print text and images directly on the front and back of your books, each area will wrap smoothly over the edge of your book. We have made it easier to share your own or your favorite albums on other websites and social networks like Facebook, Digg and Myspace. The ”Share” button is available next to your Albums and Favorites at jalbum.net.

We have received a lot of requests for search on jalbum.net. We have now added a smooth search function to the site to help you find interesting albums. You are able to search for both albums and users. It has never been easier to find new inspiration for your own photography as well as enjoying hours of creative expressions. This is the first version of the search function, we are already working on adding new functions and improvements. Stay tuned for updates...

We have made it much easier to connect with other Jalbum users through a brand new Explore section! Here you can browse users by their profile pictures, most favored albums of the community, featured albums and much more. If you see something you like, tell the person behind the camera lens. Post a message on the person’s board or send a private message. Now we have also added e-mail notifications, so the person will be informed about your comment. Isn’t that nice?
