“Get updated in the
wonderful world of Jalbum”

Small things matters

Posted Mar 11, 2008 by carl in JAlbum news

We have received a lot of feedback on the new site, which is really great! One of the things was that the top navigation was missing on the landing page of Jalbum.net. So we changed that, along with a new design that should make it clearer what Jalbum is all about. It also brings your albums and skins more forward. Also you wanted a direct link to the hosting information. It’s now added to the page footer. Eventually, we got requests that the cursor focus should be in the username form field on the sign in page. We fixed that too. It also made David really happy.  :)

The Blog has got a face lift as you can see. We also made it available in your personal News section when you are logged in.  Now you won’t miss any Jalbum news.

Besides these little enhancements we have received more feedback and are working on fixing most of them. We read every email that is sent to us and put all feature requests and bug reports on a list to be fixed. Your voice really matters, so send us a mail as soon as you encounter something you think needs improvements.

Dear fellow developers,

we know you have missed the developer information since the launch of the new site. Now, it gives us great pleasure to introduce the new Developer center at jalbum.net. It will be an oasis for all the Jalbum developers and a place where we will gather articles, tutorials and lot’s of stuff that will help you make the most of your album creations. We have lifted all the old developer pages to these new pages and restructured the information a bit.

Here are the new top sections of the developer center:
Getting started  - is a brief introduction to the client and skin development for the newbie who want to understand the basics and get inspired.

Album skins - gathers all the information you need about skin development. I come complete with Documentation and a few code samples.

Jalbum software - contains the bare bones of the Jalbum client. Here you will read about the component overview and the API. You will also find information about image filters that are included in Jalbum and how to use them to create cool effects with your images.

Support and Collaboration - holds a few topics on how developers can learn more and interact with each other to enhance your Jalbum experience.

The collaborative parts of Jalbum are very important. The Fourm is still the best place to exchange knowledge, but the Developer center should contain more information from you guys. If you feel like writing a tutorial, discovers any faulty information or if you are missing some information, please send us an email.

Go ahead and check out the new Developer Center: jalbum.net/developer.
