“Get updated in the
wonderful world of Jalbum”

Choose your audience with improved privacy settings

Posted Sep 3, 2009 by Björn Fant in JAlbum news

There are some photos that you want to show everybody and there are some photos (read: bachelor party) you want to display for a limited group of spectators. Fortunately, Jalbum let’s you choose your crowd.

Edit your album settings by moving your mouse over one of your album thumbnails and click “Edit album”. Under the privacy tab you have three options:

Everyone can see this album: The album is visible on Jalbum.net community and your personal profile.
Only me: The album is hidden from the Jalbum.net community and only visible for those who know about the link.
Password: This option will allow you to set a password for your album. You and your visitors will need to know the password when you visit the album. For your convenience we will also hide the album from community lists.

Password protection has previously only been possible from the Jalbum application when you publish your album. We believe that this is more flexible and easy to manage.

Put all your photos on jalbum.net. Show the cheers, hide the beers.

@KCAPhotos: You can change album cover picture from the Edit page of each album. You'll find the Edit button on each album thumbnail when moving the mouse over it. I have replied in your guest book.

@kdtcat: If you list external albums on the Jalbum site (for adding widgets as an example) you can keep them hidden or visible. Password protection however only works on Jalbum hosted albums.

That seems correct for me. I have jalbums loaded to my own webspace and the password protection doesn't seem to be working.

That is awesome. I've been thinking of alternatives because I've been worried about privacy. You guys rock!
