Your albums are now protected from atom bombs

Bahnhof server backup - German submarine engines! 

Last week we moved all of our servers to a new location – the ex nuclear bunker Pionen. The bunker is located 30 meters below ground and completely state of the art as well as an architectural wonder. The inspiration for the place was old sci-fi movies like Star Wars and Logan’s run. Plants and artificial lighting are decorating the interior and create a wonderful work environment for the staff managing the servers.

The technology is quite unique. 1.5 megawatt of cooling for the servers, Triple redundancy Internet backbone access and German submarine engines to handle the backup power (image above)! Pingdom.com calls this place The world’s most super-designed data center – fit for a James Bond villain.

Due to the move we had a downtime last Thursday. We hope this did not cause any problem for you. Now your albums will survive the strike of an atom bomb.
