Congratulations all Canon camera owners. You are the leading majority of all Jalbum users when it comes to using your camera.
A couple of months ago we decided to do a little data-crunching project to investigate what kind of cameras we as a community prefer. We crunched all the albums on our servers and extracted the data about each image. The result of the most popular camera used is this list:
1. Canon EOS 400D DIGITAL
2. Canon EOS 40D
3. Canon EOS 350D DIGITAL
4. NIKON D80
5. NIKON D300
6. NIKON D40
7. Canon EOS 20D
8. Canon EOS 450D
9. Canon EOS 30D
10. Canon EOS 5D
The result proves that the Jalbum community really is a collective of dedicated photographers. All the cameras in the top 10 are DSLRs, and the list goes on like this I tell you!
Jalbum.net is definitely a place where you find likeminded, when it comes to chatting about cameras, advanced photography tips or product reviews. To help out we've just started the Photography equipment forum thread. Have fun. We’ll see you there.
@steveliddle: Right on. And where do you think the M8 and M9 fall? :) Eventually the rangefinder will make a comeback -- when LCD technology improves a little more.
Uh..oh! I don't see the Nikon D2x nor the D200, much less, the D100. I just published my first photo album (106 spectacular images) here using these DSLRs.
You're probably right Steve. The list only shows what cameras were used to shoot the most pictures on jalbum.net. It doesn't say anything about the quality of the pictures.
just because one camera is at the top of the list, does not mean your photos will be better than someone using a camera at 20th on the list, suspect a lot of people who earn their living might be using the canons, it is not cheap for sure :)
Now that Canon has introduced the 7D, it will rise to the top of the list! I really, really want one...
I think d90 comes in 35th place if I recall correct, but we (d90 users) must be up and coming! ;)
Sound great Steve, I believe we have a couple of Fujifilm cameras in the top 50 so you are not alone. :)
got a fujufilm S100fs, great for the low light and super macro, plus around half the price of the canon that I was thinking of getting :)
Good suggestion. We will definitely try that and present the data some day. Maybe we could show some neat graphs with trends as well. But I'd better shut up and not promise anything until I've talked to the dev guys. :)
