Get updated in the wonderful world of jAlbum

We get a lot of requests from bloggers who want to integrate their Jalbum albums into blogs. Jalbum is appreciated by bloggers as they can customize photo albums to fit the look and feel of the blog and also for being able to publish it to their own domain. We've already made it easy to share albums in blog posts. Now, we're excited to announce a new way to share photo albums in blogs: the Jalbum blog badge (beta). The blog badge displays your latest published albums in a nifty widget in the sidebar of your blog. This is what mine looks like:

(note: this is just a picture)

Jalbum blog badge comes in six different color schemes, to match your blog. You can also personalise the title. For a live example check out the badge in the right column further down in this blog. We're still testing it, that's why it's labeled as "beta" and you can't find a link to it from your user pages yet. To try it out, follow this link: http://jalbum.net/create-badge

 Enjoy!

There's no setting to do that, but you can supply your own custom CSS file to achieve that. Check out the badge documentation http://jalbum.net/badge-documentatio n

@Exposurenz: In theory it can be added anywhere. It just depends on what restrictions your blog software has.

I'll try it as soon as possible ! Best regards, Erik.

Can you add this badge to a menu item instead of having it in a widget down the side of your blog?
Thanks Jess

@Norseman: It should work regardless of where you put it. This badge included on this page is put inside a table. Are you getting any Javascript errors? There's no setting for making a two column badge, but if you're good with CSS you might be able to achieve it anyway. See the badge documentation on how to use your own CSS for the badge: http://jalbum.net/badge-documentatio n

@Norseman: I have now tried the blog badge with the latest version of Wordpress (2.9.1), and it worked perfectly. I did the following:
1. Downloaded the plugin from: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/ jalbum-badge/
2. Unzipped it in the wp-content/plugins directory
3. Activated it from the Plugins page in WP admin
4. Added the badge on the Widgets page in WP admin
5. I entered my jalbum.net user name and then pressed "Save"
6. Viewed my blog to confirm that the blog was showing

Is it possible that you may have missed any of these steps?

Sounds likely, as soon as I have the time (probably next week when things have calmed down a bit from the Online Jalbum release) I will test the plugin with the latest version of WP and take care of any bugs that might appear. I'll make sure to post here when there's an updated version of the plugin available.

@Norseman: Which version of Wordpress are you using? I have only tested it up to version 2.8.4.

@nayyar: I don't think that Jalbum in its current form will meet your demands. We have given collaborative albums a lot of thought and have some ideas on how to go forward with it. Just stay tuned!

@AlexForbes: Sorry, I must have missed your post also! You can change the number of albums shown by adding the "c" parameter to the badge loader code. See the badge documentation for more info: http://jalbum.net/badge-documentatio n

@mes1939: Sorry about the late reply, I must've completely missed your comment. No it can't be used with Facebook (right now). It might be possible to wrap it up in a Facebook application, but its not something that I have looked into.
