Jalbum help center at your service

A few weeks ago Carl gave you a preview of our new help center with a tutorial video showing a noob how to make their first Jalbum. Well, we're happy to announce that we've now launched an all new help center with a new FAQ and five new tutorials to help anyone get started making their first album and adding widgets.

Already a pro? Why not try making your very own skin? All of our skins are developed by the awesome Jalbum community. In fact, we liked Laza's work on the Chameleon skin so much that we hired him full time as our lead graphic designer! Want to get started making your own skin? Check out this guide and keep in mind that our friendly community is ready to help out if you get stuck.

i have a problem. i am trying to create my album, but when i click on the "make album", it says "...illegal use of unidentified object..." i've tried starting over and over with no change. any suggestions?

Yes thanks, I have solved the scripting error, by upgrading java and following some other advice on the forum.
I am now having trouble downloading skins. They are in the skins folder but not active in the Jalbum software.
Up to now i've been using simple-skin but find although I have downloaded the upgrade I cannot access it.

Kraty: Since it it seems to be Nokia related, I'd suggest to look for support on the Nokia site. You can also post your question in the BananAlbum skin section in the forum, someone might know there too

vanputten: it depends on the skin. Search for Slideshow in the Skin section and you'll find a few skins. On top of my head I know Chameleon, Bananalbum, Matrix, Fotoplayer, Imagerotor and Classic Aligned 2 are skins that have slideshow option.

I have been having trouble upgrading to latest version Jalbum 8.1.6. I keep getting a scripting error message. It says- line 61:java.awt. Illegal Component State Exception: component must be showing onscreen to determine it's location.
Details:
Sourced file; inline evaluation; import java.util.regex*; import se. datadosen.component, etc.
then a string of components labelled unknown source.
This happens every time I attempt to use the new version. I also got a warning message when downloading saying the source was unknown and unsigned.
Sorry, but there is nothing helpful on the forum.

I see you are using the skins "Boxer" and "Spartan". The skin Boxer opens up every picture in the same window as funky pop-ups, that's why it only enables comment on album level. The Spartan skin adds commenting on all pictures. If you created the album with Jalbum 8.1, simply go to your "Albums" page and add Widgets from "Manage Widgets"
