I'm a happy guy these days. We have a brand new site up and running and Jalbum 8.4, our application, is just finally released.
More convenient
Do you know what is the most asked question I get? It's "How do I delete a published album?". You can now delete published albums via our site if you like. Deleting them from within Jalbum has always been possible, but has been hard to find. Not so anymore. Jalbum 8.4 lists your recent album projects in the left pane of the window and has a context menu that allows for easy deletion of published albums, local albums or the whole album project. It is now easy to reverse operations like "make album" and "publish". The new recent album project list gives you a better overview of your album projects and simplifies continuing on album projects you created earlier.
More informative
There is also a new information window that helps you getting a better understanding on where things are put and how disk space they take.

To give you a better understanding on how much space you have used on your account, Jalbum 8.4 now displays an account status bar in the lower right corner of Jalbum's window. It updates automatically to reflect changes to your account.
There is naturally more to tell. Check out the release notes and get your copy of Jalbum 8.4 here!
Also, I downloaded again and scanned the file again but this time there was nothing seen. Perhaps, as you suggest, I responded to a phony Jalbum email - if you give me your email address I will send you the email I responded to. Also check to see if you got a paypal donation I made at the same time I downloaded 10 Sep. 2009 13:42:13 PDT Transaction ID: 8G7327359W471204Y €10.63 EUR to JAlbum AB (info@jalbum.net)
Thanks Richard, flagging our installer as malware is annoying to say the least...
Daniel, I have only downloaded directly from your site.
The Previx log says:

They say

You might want to go to their site and "disagree with this determination"
Richard
david, I knw I can hit publish from the context menu and do what you say. But the problem is if i hit publish from the 'preview/publish/ button that pops up immediately after I made an album, it defaults to a current directory that seems to have been made the default directory. How can I change that preference so that when I hit that publish button, it goes to the root instead?
Richard,
we don't distribute any installation with that filename, it must have gotten it from a site which try to use our software to spread malware. Please let me know what site you got it from and download the authentic Jalbum here: https://jalbum.net/software/download /current
Previx antimalware says: JALBUM 8.4 DEUTSCH.EXE
Malicious Software
Your PC is infected. The file called JALBUM 8.4 DEUTSCH.EXE is considered unsafe and there may be other infections on your PC.
To solve that, select "Publish/Manage" from the album's context menu, then connect to the account and select the folder you want. Now close the window and save the project. Now it should stick.
A problem I have occurs when I hit the publish button that appears right after i made an album. If its a new album, the default is an existing directory for another album, which I don't want. I have tried to create a new default but it still reverts to an old directory. i cant seem to find where I can change that setting so that the directory would be the album name such as what exists when I use the -tools-publish and the create a new directory on the server.
Java unfortunately limits us here. If we want to add a "Create directory" button, we also get a save-type dialog where users can enter anything nonexistent too. Anyway, you can drag and drop folders created in Finder onto the "Output directory" field and Jalbum picks up the path.
If I click on the 'output directory' in the 'general' tab, the dialog box does not give me the option of creating a new folder. Standard MAC dialog boxes pretty much always give you the option of 'new folder.' Love the program and always donate.
But there is indeed a "New folder" in the file dialog that opens when you click the "Add images" button. Isn't it?
Hi, be great to have the MAC dialog box with the "New Folder' button option.
