Jalbum 8.4 betaPosted Sep 3, 2009 by David Ekholm in JAlbum news We're on a roll in the Jalbum HQ. We have a brand new site up and running and Jalbum 8.4, our application, is just around the corner now. We are basically just awaiting translations from our wonderful translators around the globe. The new version is a lot more convenient to work with. We'll tell you all about it when we release it sharp, but please go ahead and try it out right now. Enjoy! Please let us know if you find any bugs and what you think of it by leaving a comment! Thanks. |

Hi David,
I installed Jalbum 8.3.5 last night and so far the program seems to function well without any hiccups.
I will let you know if any compatibility problem arises.

David Ekholm says:
Not specifically Jalbum 8.4, but the installer we use seem to not play well with 64 bit windows, unless you have installed 32 bit Java (from http://java.sun.com). We're looking into this right now. Care to test som specially made installers?

I'm talking about our desktop application. Our site is still in English only, but we're planning on making a multilingual version of our site too.

No, I don't use Mac version.
There is no "preferences menu", I'm sorry! Where do I find the tools?
"Jalbum home" shows the menus "Loewenbrueck", "Explore", "Download", "Forum", "Help".
Where, the hell, can I find the "preferences"?
I better should give it up!!??

David Ekholm says:
Perhaps you're using the Mac version. Then it is CMD + ,
If that still fails, go for the Tools->Preferences menu.

It doesn't work! I pressed "Strg" (which is the same as CTRL, isnt't it?) and ",". Nothing happens.
Does it work only with Jalbum 8.4 beta? I didn't it download yet.

Jalbum exists in German too! Press CTRL+, (that's the comma key) to access Jalbum's preferences window. Now select any of the 32 languages available there. Our site is still in English, but we're planning for a multilingual site too.

It would be helpful, if you published a Jalbum version in German language.

Try this:
Open the directory/folder you wish Jalbum to put the album in. Now open Jalbum and its settings window. Expand the collapsible panel called "Change directory location". Now drag and drop the folder you wish Jalbum to put the album in onto the field labeled "Output directory" and save your changes. That should do the trick.

yes, i'm sorry my english is not so good.
What I try to tell, is that images we use for the album still must stay on the main internal hard drive. That means that I can not store this images on external hard drive.
Dialog box for saving or search image access only to the main hard drive. Hope it's more clear!?!
